Overhaul of components at TEICHMANN site in Essen

Initially, the slightly outdated single-girder tubular gantry crane with a load capacity of 15t was meant to be replaced by a brand new or a refurbished second-hand crane. After careful evaluation by an experienced TEICHMANN expert, it quickly became clear that due to the good steel structure, a complete renovation of the crane was the most economical solution for the customer.

In order to maintain the renovation work, the customer had two strip foundations at a distance of 1.2m to the ailing foundations concreted, so there were no delays in everyday operations.

Renewal of the electrical system and conversion to frequency converter control

At the company location in Essen the complete electrical system of the crane was renewed. Crane travel gear and trolley travel gear are frequency-controlled and can be operated in two stages via the radio control.

New crane trolleys and opto-electronic measurements against abrasion

In addition, new crane trolleys were constructed and manufactured, which were calibrated after re-assembly using opto-electronic measuring tools. The crane wheels can be readjusted at any time to the required operating tolerance so that excessive abradion is avoided in the future.

Trolley and hoist of the gantry crane in steel tube construction were overhauled at the company site in Essen and the entire crane and the trolley were incl. sandblasted, primed and provided with a coating in customers colors.

New A-rails with diagonal joint

Because the almost 170m worn-out S-rails of the crane runway were no longer laid out in their desired position, TEICHMANN CRANES delivered 12m long A-rails with diagonal joints, pre-assembled on slats.

The six heavily worn-out bolt connections of the crane were spindeled to fit dimension and oversized bolts were used. The pendulum supports were also professionally equipped with sliding joints.

Through the professional overhaul and refurbishment of their gantry crane, the long-established company Schubrig has made a sustainable and future-oriented investment.
