New canals are being built on the former mining area in Bergkamen to specifically drain off the accumulating groundwater. Otherwise, the disused mines would result in excess groundwater running into the cellars and houses of the surrounding residents.

For this purpose, the 40t TEICHMANN gantry crane is used at the starting excavation pit to supply material during tunneling in the excavation pit.
